Detex EAX2500S Surface Mount AC / DC Powered Alarm Gray Finish

The EAX-2500S provides hardwired door alarm protection for restricted access doors and emergency exits where unauthorized egress must be detected and deterred. This surface-mount unit installs on secure doors in hospitals, schools, retail stores, and office buildings where NFPA 101 Life Safety Code requires secondary exit monitoring. Detex designed this alarm to sound at approximately 100dB when someone attempts unauthorized exit through restricted doors.

The unit mounts in a standard 4x4 double outlet box for quick installation with ordinary tools. Field-selectable features let you choose status indicators and auto rearm options without rewiring. Silent arming prevents false alarms during normal door operation. The tamper-resistant housing protects internal electronics from vandalism.

AC/DC hardwired power with optional 9VDC backup battery ensures continuous operation during power outages. The patented cam assembly automatically adjusts for different cylinder sizes without spacers. Gray finish blends with most door hardware while maintaining visibility for IBC Chapter 10 means of egress compliance requirements.
