Halotron I is a clean agent extinguishing chemical that leaves no residue, conducts no electricity, and is safe around energized equipment. It replaces the older Halon 1211 agent banned under the Montreal Protocol, with far lower ozone depletion and global warming potential. The 11 lb (1-A:10-B:C) and 15.5 lb (2-A:10-B:C) models carry Class A, B, and C ratings, a single-unit answer for facilities that mix combustibles, flammable liquids, and live electrical equipment. The 2.5 lb (2-B:C) and 5 lb (5-B:C) models are B:C units for flammable-liquid and electrical hazards only.

Primary use cases are data centers, server rooms, telecom closets, laboratories, clean rooms, control rooms, and aircraft hangars. NFPA 75 governs fire protection for information technology equipment rooms. NFPA 2001 covers clean agent suppression systems more broadly. Portable Halotron extinguishers complement fixed clean-agent systems as a first-response tool.

Never use water, ABC dry chemical, or foam near energized electronic equipment. Water shorts circuits. Dry chemical leaves corrosive residue that ruins boards, drives, and precision equipment. Halotron leaves nothing behind once it discharges.

Pricing these against a written project spec: clean-agent spec paragraphs usually name a basis-of-design model, and Halotron I is one agent, made by American Pacific and filled by several extinguisher manufacturers. Checking an equal against the named model means comparing UL rating, agent capacity, and construction. Every product page here links the manufacturer datasheet, and our UL 2129 page explains the agent designations spec writers use, including why HCFC Blend B means Halotron I. UL 711 is the fire-test standard behind the rating on every label. For project quantities we do volume quotes, substitution paperwork, and staged jobsite deliveries. We work from spec snippets when the full document is under NDA.
