Buckeye Fire Equipment is a privately held American manufacturer of fire protection products founded in 1968, headquartered in Kings Mountain, North Carolina. For more than 55 years Buckeye has manufactured portable fire extinguishers, wheeled extinguishers, extinguishing agents, foam concentrates, and pre-engineered kitchen fire suppression systems at its North Carolina facility.
Portable extinguishers
Handheld units come in NFPA 10-compliant configurations across all major agent types: ABC dry chemical, BC dry chemical, Purple-K, CO2, water, wet chemical (Class K), and clean agent. Wheeled units and bulk agents
Wheeled extinguishers range from 50 to 350 pounds for high-hazard industrial, aviation, and military environments. The foam suppression line includes AFFF, AR-AFFF, and fluorine-free foam concentrates with compatible proportioning hardware for industrial facilities, fuel storage, and aviation fire protection. Bulk extinguishing agents serve fire extinguisher service companies for recharging and maintenance work governed by NFPA 10 inspection and maintenance schedules.
Kitchen fire suppression
Buckeye manufactures UL 300-listed wet chemical kitchen suppression systems for commercial cooking operations governed by NFPA 96 ventilation and suppression requirements.
Fleet and commercial vehicles
For fleet and transportation applications, Buckeye manufactures extinguishers and vehicle mounting brackets that meet DOT 49 CFR §393.95 requirements for commercial motor vehicles. The 5 lb and 10 lb ABC units are commonly specified for DOT-compliant commercial vehicle fire extinguisher applications including semi-trucks, box trucks, tankers, and buses.
