Anti-Slip Tape
Anti-slip tape puts traction on the surface people actually step on: stair treads, ramps, dock edges, ladder rungs, and wet transition zones. It is mineral grit bonded to a pressure-sensitive backing, so it goes down with hand pressure and no cure time. This is a different job from floor marking tape, which draws boundaries people walk beside rather than on, and from entrance mats, which stop water at the door before it reaches the floor.
Commercial or heavy duty grade
Grade is a question of traffic and abrasion, not of how slippery the floor is. Both grades use the same mineral grit surface and differ in how much wear they are built to take. Traction listings vary by product: grit tape commonly carries an NFSI High Traction certification, while UL 410 covers slip resistance of floor surface materials and turns up more often on marking tape. Read the listing on the individual item rather than assuming it runs across a manufacturer's whole range, and remember it describes the tape rather than your installation.

Rolls are usually sold by the case
Grit tape is commonly sold by the case rather than by the roll, and a case is often specified by total area instead of roll count. Where that is how a listing is built, a narrower width arrives as more rolls for the same price, because you are buying the same amount of material either way. That is worth knowing before the width choice feels like a cost decision. Check the case quantity in the size selector before ordering, because buying a case when you wanted a single roll is the easiest way to end up with far more tape than the job needs. Die-cut treads are typically sold by the case as well.
Surface prep decides whether it stays down
Grit tape fails at the edges first, and almost always because of what was under it. The surface has to be clean, fully dry, and free of oil, dust, and loose coating before the liner comes off. Concrete that has been power washed needs to dry out completely, not just look dry. On painted, powder coated, lacquered, or stained surfaces, color and lot variation change how the adhesive behaves, so test a short piece on the actual surface before committing to a full run. Roll the tape down with firm pressure rather than hand pressure alone, and the bond keeps improving over the first day.
