AEDs & Accessories
Automated external defibrillators and the consumables that keep them in service. An AED program has three parts: the device, a visible protected home for it, and someone watching the expiration dates. This page covers the first and third; our AED cabinets cover the second.
Choosing a device
Both devices we carry are semi-automatic public-access AEDs with voice guidance for untrained responders. The HeartSine Samaritan PAD 350P is the compact, budget-friendly choice with the simplest maintenance story: battery and electrodes are one Pad-Pak cartridge with one expiration date. The LIFEPAK CR2 adds WiFi self-monitoring — the device reports its own readiness — plus rhythm analysis during compressions and a Child Mode button that removes the need for separate pediatric pads.
Consumables
Every AED runs on parts that expire: Pad-Pak cartridges for the HeartSine, QUIK-STEP electrodes for the CR2. Replace after any use or at expiration, and keep a spare with the device so it never sits out of service. Facilities with children on site should add the pediatric cartridge where the device uses one.
Ordering an AED
AEDs are prescription medical devices under FDA rules. The manufacturer requires a short end-user form with every device order — installation address plus your designated program coordinator — and we send it right after purchase; the unit ships once it is back. Some states add registration or medical-direction requirements, so check your state or ask us.
