Hager
Hager Companies traces its roots to St. Louis, Missouri, where Charles Hager, a blacksmith who had arrived from Germany in 1848, bought the shop he worked in a year later. By 1878 the business had become C. Hager and Sons Hinge Manufacturing Company. Hager is still headquartered in St. Louis, with operations in Montgomery, Alabama, and today offers a full line of door hardware and electronic access control, with hinges at its core.
Hinges for commercial doors
Hager's architectural hinges include full mortise five knuckle ball bearing hinges in standard and heavy weight, in steel, stainless steel and brass, with options such as a non-removable pin and electric through-wire versions for electrified locks and exit devices. The base metal matters on a fire door: Hager states that steel and stainless steel hinges may be used on listed fire rated openings and brass may not. Hager makes its hinges to ANSI/BHMA A156.1.
