The Von Duprin 6223 is a 6200 Series electric strike for a pair of doors in a closed-back application, used with mortise locks without a deadbolt or with cylindrical locks. Von Duprin specifies it for doors 1-3/4 in thick with a stile of at least 4-3/4 in, in hollow metal, aluminum or wood frames. This one is 24 V DC, fail secure (Von Duprin FSE): the strike stays locked when power is removed. Von Duprin lists the fail-secure 6223 under UL 10C for fire-rated pairs with an inactive leaf. Its data sheet and its web page give different maximum ratings, so check the listing against your door's rating. A fail-safe strike is never fire rated. Finish: satin stainless steel (630).
