Von Duprin QEL99EO Rim Exit Device with Quiet Electric Latch Retraction

The Von Duprin QEL99EO is a 99 series rim exit device, the latch that mounts on the face of the door and catches a strike on the frame, for single doors and pairs with a mullion. The 99 has a grooved mechanism case (the 98 is the smooth case version). QEL is Von Duprin's quiet electric latch retraction: on a signal from an access control system, a button or an automatic operator, the device retracts its latch bolt and pushpad, and it can hold them retracted for free entry. What else the opening needs

A power supply, as above. A power transfer from the door to the frame, and the control that signals the device (card reader, push button or operator): Von Duprin does not include either. A mullion on a pair of doors, such as a Von Duprin 4954 or KR4954 steel mullion prepared for 299 strikes.

Listings

Von Duprin lists the 98/99 rim device as panic exit hardware under UL 305 and certifies it to ANSI/BHMA A156.3 Grade 1. It is not fire exit hardware and must not go on a fire-rated door.
