Ampco BW-1 Non-Sparking Banana Wedge 12-1/4 in

The Ampco Safety Tools BW-1 is a curved banana wedge. Ampco lists it at 12-1/4 in long with a 13/16 in diameter. Its drawing shows a 1/4 in hole through the thick end. Ampco's data sheet files it under refineries and pipelines and shows two wedges on a nylon non-sparking tether. Ampco sells the tether separately and it is not included. Ampco lists the wedge as made in the USA.

Before you use it

Ampco notes that non-sparking tools are softer than steel, so use each one only for the job it is made for. It also says to keep copper-based tools out of direct contact with acetylene, ethylene oxide and some explosives, such as amatol, DBX and lead azide. Ampco's alloys conduct electricity, so ground the tool where static charge is a concern.
