Auburn Manufacturing

Auburn Manufacturing has made extreme-temperature textiles in Mechanic Falls, Maine for over four decades, starting with safe alternatives to asbestos fabric and growing into heat-resistant cloth, hot work protection, removable insulation systems, gasketing, and safety fabrics for industrial and OEM users.

Their hot work line is built around the three duty levels recognized by NFPA 51B. Welding curtains handle vertical light to moderate spark exposure, blankets cover horizontal exposure to sparks and slag, and pads take severe molten-metal contact directly. Those ratings are assigned separately under FM 4950 and are not interchangeable, which is why choosing the wrong one is a real failure mode on a hot work permit and during fire watch. Which category a job calls for, and which one can substitute for another, is covered in our welding pad, blanket and curtain selection guide.

Auburn runs an ISO 9001:2015 quality management system, holds CAGE code 9Y192, and is certified as a Women's Business Enterprise by WBENC. Fabrics are woven, coated, and finished at the Maine plant.
