Why the firewall: OSHA requires oxygen cylinders in storage to be kept 20 ft from fuel-gas cylinders and combustible materials, or separated from them by a noncombustible barrier at least 5 ft high with a fire-resistance rating of at least half an hour (OSHA 1910.253(b)(4)(iii)). Saf-T-Cart says adding the firewall to its standard cage makes it possible to store oxygen and acetylene cylinders together while maintaining compliance with OSHA's standards.
