Norton Rixson
Norton Rixson is the combined door-hardware brand of Norton Door Controls and Rixson, both part of ASSA ABLOY Americas. Rixson is the original fire-door pivot specialist; Norton is the long-running door-closer brand. Together the line covers commercial door hardware for heavy-traffic openings, oversized leaves, and fire-rated stair cores where standard butt hinges and surface closers cannot keep up.
What Norton Rixson makes
The Rixson Firemark line covers center-hung and offset-hung pivot sets, floor and concealed closers, and electromagnetic door holders. The Norton line is the dominant surface-mounted door closer family in our catalog: most active SKUs feature rack-and-pinion mechanisms with valve-controlled backcheck, rated for 25 million cycles. We also carry Rixson pivot hinges and concealed door closers across SKUs we carry.
Standards and grades
Rixson hardware carries ANSI/BHMA A156.4 Grade 1 listings, UL-cUL fire ratings through 3 hours, and publishes both EPD and HPD sustainability declarations. 23 of the 30 active Norton Rixson SKUs we stock carry the ANSI/BHMA A156.4 listing.
