The JL Industries TMS is an all-purpose stainless steel access panel for walls and ceilings where painted steel does not belong: commercial kitchens, food processing, washdown areas, hospitals, and labs. The door and frame are 304 stainless with a #4 satin finish, the door swings on a concealed continuous stainless hinge, and the 1 in frame flange conceals the rough opening. A flush screwdriver-operated cam latch holds it closed. This is a non-rated panel; for fire-resistance-rated assemblies use the FDS stainless fire-rated series. Pick your door size above.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this panel fire-rated?

No. The TMS is a general-purpose panel for non-rated walls and ceilings. If the wall or ceiling is fire-resistance-rated, use the FDS stainless fire-rated series, which carries the UL listing and self-closing door the assembly requires.

Why stainless?

The 304 stainless door and frame stand up to washdown, moisture, and cleaning chemicals that break down painted steel, which is why stainless panels are the norm in commercial kitchens, food processing, and healthcare interiors.

What size opening do I frame?

Order size equals door size, and the wall opening is 1/2 in larger than the door in each dimension (within 1/8 in). The 1 in flange conceals the cut edges of the opening.

Is it made in the USA?

Yes. The TMS series (factory 9TMS line) is manufactured by JL Industries / Activar in the United States. The imported 4TM line is a different product we do not carry.
