Saf-T-Cart 601-10FW Narrow Firewall Cylinder Cart

The Saf-T-Cart 601-10FW carries a large oxygen cylinder and a medium acetylene cylinder front to back, with a steel firewall between them, rather than side by side. Saf-T-Cart designs it for auto shops, power plants and other narrow spaces, and says the two-tier design keeps it easy to maneuver through tight spots. The cylinders are chained in, and it rolls on 10 in pneumatic tires.

Why the firewall: OSHA requires oxygen cylinders in storage to be kept 20 ft from fuel-gas cylinders and combustible materials, or separated from them by a noncombustible barrier at least 5 ft high with a fire-resistance rating of at least half an hour (OSHA 1910.253(b)(4)(iii)). Saf-T-Cart states its firewalls are at least 60 in tall, block the line of sight between the oxygen and fuel-gas cylinders and carry a 30-minute burn rating, and says its firewall carts meet and exceed OSHA 1910.253.
