MSA Safety
MSA Safety was founded as Mine Safety Appliances Company in 1914 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, originally addressing the dangerous conditions in American coal mines. The company pioneered self-contained breathing apparatus and gas detection equipment, and now operates manufacturing facilities across the United States including plants in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Texas.
