The JL Industries LifeStart 1415F12 is a recessed wall cabinet that protects and displays an AED (automated external defibrillator), made in the USA. The cold-rolled steel with a white powder-coat finish cabinet sets into the wall for a low-profile look that meets the ADA projection requirement of 4 inches or less, so it suits corridors and egress paths. A built-in 85 dB door alarm with a keyed on/off switch deters tampering, and AED graphics make the unit easy to find in an emergency.

The interior is sized to accommodate most AEDs on the market. Confirm your AED's footprint and depth against the cabinet's interior dimensions before ordering. Check the cut sheet for the exact interior opening. Recessing into a fire-resistance-rated wall? A fire-rated (UL 1479) version of this cabinet is available on request.

Mount the cabinet so the AED is visible and reachable along the path people travel in an emergency; AED placement and signage requirements vary by state, building code, and occupancy. In a corridor or other means of egress, a wall-mounted cabinet must not project more than 4 inches into the required egress width, which is why semi-recessed models are specified in those areas.
