The JL Industries Ambassador 1013F10 is a surface-mount steel fire extinguisher cabinet for a 10 lb extinguisher, made in the USA. The whole cabinet mounts on the wall face, so there is no wall opening to cut: it suits masonry, tilt-up, thin partitions, and any wall you cannot open up. The full-view clear acrylic door shows the extinguisher at a glance and swings on a continuous hinge that opens 180 degrees, with a zinc-plated pull handle and roller catch.

A surface-mount cabinet projects its full depth from the wall, which is more than the 4 in protrusion limit ADA sets along accessible circulation paths. That makes this model the choice for walls where projection is acceptable, and the wrong one for accessible corridors and circulation paths; use a recessed or semi-recessed cabinet there, like the Ambassador 1017V10 we also carry.

JL's fit matrix rates this cabinet for standard 2.5 to 10 lb dry-chemical extinguishers, with wider-bodied clean-agent units to 5 lb and 5 lb CO2. No. This door style ships without a lock. The door is held shut by a roller catch and pulls open by hand, so the annual extinguisher inspection needs no key and no tools. JL does offer a Saf-T-Lok cylinder lock with two keys on other door styles in this series, so ask us for a quote if the site needs a cabinet that locks.
