JL Industries Cosmopolitan Stainless Steel Recessed Locking Fire Extinguisher Cabinet 5 lb 1835W10

The JL Industries Cosmopolitan 1835W10 is a recessed stainless steel fire extinguisher cabinet with a locking door, made in the USA. It is the shallow-tub member of the Cosmopolitan line: the same 10-1/2 in by 24 in opening as the 10 lb models but a 5-1/2 in deep tub, which is what lets it go into a wall that cannot take 6 in, and which limits it to extinguishers up to 6 lb. Door and trim are 304 stainless in a #4 satin finish over a white steel tub, the vertical-duo door pairs a stainless panel with a narrow clear acrylic window, and the W door style adds JL's Saf-T-Lok cylinder lock with two keys.

Extinguisher compatibility

JL rates this 5-1/2 in tub for Cosmic and Galaxy extinguishers from 2.5 to 6 lb and Mercury from 2.5 to 5 lb; a 10 lb unit needs the 6 in tub of the 1035 series. Where this model fits

Choose this over the 10 lb Cosmopolitan when the wall is a 2 × 4 stud partition that cannot spare 6 in, and the extinguisher is a 5 or 6 lb unit. Keep a key where the inspector and staff can reach it. This model is built to order at the factory.
