Which Halotron sizes carry a Class A rating?

The 11 lb (1-A:10-B:C) and 15.5 lb (2-A:10-B:C) handhelds, plus the 65 lb (4-A:60-B:C) and 150 lb (10-A:120-B:C) wheeled units. The 2.5 lb (2-B:C) and 5 lb (5-B:C) are B:C only. If your spec line calls for 1-A or 2-A coverage, pick from the sizes with an A rating.

How long do Halotron fire extinguishers take to ship, and can they be returned?

Halotron clean-agent extinguishers are specialty, pressurized equipment. Many ship directly from the manufacturer, so lead times can run longer than a stock item, occasionally two weeks or more. Which Halotron size do you need?

One agent in six sizes, so the UL rating is the decision. The 2.5 lb and 5 lb units are rated B:C only — they carry no Class A rating, so they do not cover ordinary combustibles like cable insulation, packaging or paper. Class A coverage starts at the 11 lb. NFPA 10 sets the travel distance that decides how many you need.

Halotron I is a clean agent extinguishing chemical that leaves no residue, conducts no electricity, and is safe around energized equipment. It replaces the older Halon 1211 agent banned under the Montreal Protocol, with far lower ozone depletion and global warming potential. The 11 lb (1-A:10-B:C) and 15.5 lb (2-A:10-B:C) models carry Class A, B, and C ratings, a single-unit answer for facilities that mix combustibles, flammable liquids, and live electrical equipment. The 2.5 lb (2-B:C) and 5 lb (5-B:C) models are B:C units for flammable-liquid and electrical hazards only.

Primary use cases are data centers, server rooms, telecom closets, laboratories, clean rooms, control rooms, and aircraft hangars. NFPA 75 governs fire protection for information technology equipment rooms. NFPA 2001 covers clean agent suppression systems more broadly. Never use water, ABC dry chemical, or foam near energized electronic equipment. Water shorts circuits. Dry chemical leaves corrosive residue that ruins boards, drives, and precision equipment. Halotron leaves nothing behind once it discharges.
