Wheeled Extinguishers
Industrial occupancies — warehouses, manufacturing floors, aviation hangars, marine terminals, refueling zones, data center white space — generate fire loads that overwhelm handheld extinguishers in seconds. A wheeled unit puts 50 lbs of agent, 30+ seconds of discharge, and 25-foot effective range under the control of one operator. NFPA 10 classifies wheeled extinguishers separately from handhelds and allows them to count toward extra-hazard occupancy protection at greater travel distances — they are not a substitute for handhelds but an addition for high-fuel-load areas.
Agent selection follows the same logic as handhelds, scaled up. ABC wheeled covers Class A + Class B + Class C in mixed-hazard areas (warehouse aisles, manufacturing cells, equipment yards). Purple K wheeled doubles the B-rating effectiveness on hydrocarbon fires — specified for petroleum, aviation refueling, marine engine rooms, racing pits. CO2 wheeled is the only practical clean-agent option at this scale, used in data center white space, generator rooms, broadcast studios, and labs where dry chemical residue would destroy the equipment being protected.
Stored-pressure (SP) variants ship ready to operate — pull the pin and go. Cartridge-operated regulated (RG) variants handle a wider temperature range and outdoor installations. Both are UL 711 listed and made in Kings Mountain, NC.
