Industrial occupancies — warehouses, manufacturing floors, equipment yards, aircraft hangars, marine terminals — generate fire loads that overwhelm handheld extinguishers within seconds. A 50 lb wheeled unit gives one person mobile, high-discharge coverage that no portable can match. Buckeye Fire Equipment makes this stored-pressure model rated 10-A:160-B:C, with 30+ seconds of discharge and effective range out to 25 feet. Listed to the ANSI/UL 299 dry chemical fire extinguisher standard and tested under UL 711 fire-test classification.

Stored pressure means the cylinder ships fully charged and ready to operate — pull the pin, squeeze the lever, sweep. No nitrogen cartridge to install, no regulator to verify. The trade-off is a narrower operating temperature range than the cartridge-operated variants; for outdoor or cold-environment use, the RG (cartridge-operated regulated) variant is the better choice.

Primary use cases are large-area Class A + Class B coverage: warehouse aisles, manufacturing cells, automotive shops, equipment dealerships, fuel-handling zones, and high-rack storage. NFPA 10 ordinary-hazard and extra-hazard classification places wheeled extinguishers in a separate category from handhelds and credits them toward extra-hazard occupancy protection at greater travel distances. OSHA 29 CFR §1910.157 workplace extinguisher selection rules apply to employer-provided units, and warehouse and rack-storage installations should also review OSHA materials-handling and storage requirements for travel-distance and obstruction provisions. Facilities storing flammable liquids alongside Class A goods should reference the NFPA 30 flammable liquids code.

Semi-pneumatic rubber wheels roll smoothly over warehouse floors, shop concrete, and tarmac without the puncture risk of air-filled tires. Steel cylinder with baked-on polyester epoxy finish. Plated brass valve, hose with nozzle. Wall hook not included (this is a mobile unit). Operating temperature range of +40°F to +120°F.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it ship assembled, and how?

Yes — it ships fully assembled and charged, ready to operate. As an oversized unit it ships by LTL freight, typically within 3 business days.

Why choose ABC over CO2 or Purple K?

ABC (monoammonium phosphate) is the multipurpose dry chemical — the only wheeled agent rated for Class A (ordinary combustibles) in addition to B and C, at 10-A:160-B:C. Choose it when one unit must cover mixed hazards. For residue-free electrical protection choose CO2; for the highest flammable-liquid rating choose Purple K.

Where is this extinguisher made?

In the USA — at Buckeye's Kings Mountain, North Carolina plant.

What standards does it meet?

It is UL 299 listed (dry chemical extinguishers) and UL 711 listed (fire ratings), rated 10-A:160-B:C, and supports NFPA 10 compliance for portable fire extinguishers.

How many do I need?

Under NFPA 10, position extinguishers so travel distance to one never exceeds 75 ft for Class A hazards and 50 ft for Class B. One 10-A:160-B:C wheeled unit covers a high-hazard area within that range; add a unit for each separate area or anything beyond those distances.
