The JL Industries Academy 1027V10 is a semi-recessed aluminum fire extinguisher cabinet for a 10 lb extinguisher, made in the USA. The door and trim are clear satin anodized aluminum over a white steel tub, and the vertical-duo door pairs an aluminum panel with a narrow clear acrylic window, so the extinguisher is visible without a full glass front. Continuous hinge opens 180 degrees, pull handle, roller catch. It is the same cabinet as the full-view 1027F10 with the vertical-duo door.

Is this cabinet fire-rated?
No, this is a standard (non-rated) cabinet, which is fine in a non-fire-rated wall or for surface mounting. To recess a cabinet into a fire-rated wall, choose a fire-rated (FX2) model.
How does this cabinet mount?
It is a semi-recessed cabinet: the tub recesses into the wall while the trim projects a few inches from the wall face, so it works in walls too shallow for a fully-recessed cabinet.
Do I need a key to open this cabinet?
No. This door style ships without a lock. The door is held shut by a roller catch and pulls open by hand, so the annual extinguisher inspection needs no key and no tools. JL does offer a Saf-T-Lok cylinder lock with two keys on other door styles in this series, so ask us for a quote if the site needs a cabinet that locks.
