JL Industries Ambassador Steel Recessed Solid Door Fire Extinguisher Cabinet 10 lb 1015S21

The JL Industries Ambassador 1015S21 is a fully recessed steel fire extinguisher cabinet with a solid door, made in the USA. There is no window: the door is a flat white steel panel that matches the trim, on a continuous hinge that opens 180 degrees, with a zinc-plated pull handle and roller catch, so there is no lock and no key. The 3/8 in flat square-edge trim sits nearly flush with the wall. It is the same cabinet as the 1015V10 with a solid door in place of the vertical-duo window, so the tub, trim and wall opening are identical. The photo shows the semi-recessed 1017S21, which has the same solid door on a 3 in rolled trim. This cabinet has the 3/8 in flat trim and ships built as specified in the table below.

Extinguisher compatibility

JL rates this tub for dry-chemical extinguishers from 2.5 to 10 lb, Halotron clean agent from 2.5 to 5 lb, and a 5 lb CO2 extinguisher. Before ordering, compare your extinguisher's overall height, handle included, with the tub's inside height and its overall width, hose included, with the inside width. Its cylinder diameter has to fit the 6 in tub depth. Allow at least 1 in of clearance each way and check that it fits through the door opening. Solid door and lettering

A solid door is specified where the extinguisher should not be on display, where glazing has been broken before or where the corridor wants one clean painted face. With no window, the door itself has to say what is inside. Choose the red vertical FIRE EXTINGUISHER option above and the cabinet is supplied with JL's 3/4 in die-cut vinyl lettering, shipped loose for the installer to apply. Silkscreened or engraved lettering, other colours and horizontal layouts are factory options. Request a quote from this page. Where this model fits

Fully recessed needs a wall that can give up 5-7/8 in of depth. In return only the 3/8 in trim and the pull stand off the wall face, well inside the ADA 4 in protrusion limit for corridors and other circulation paths. JL publishes no separate drawing for this model: its dimensions are the C1015 row of the Ambassador series submittal linked below. On the 3 in rolled semi-recessed trim this cabinet is the 1017S21.
