JL Industries Classic Galvanneal Recessed Fire Extinguisher Cabinet 5 lb 916AZ30 2-Pack

The JL Industries Classic 916AZ30 is a low-cost semi-recessed fire extinguisher cabinet for a 5 lb extinguisher, made in the USA and sold as a factory 2-pack. The galvanneal steel tub sets 3-3/4 in into the wall, and a 1-1/2 in wide, 2-3/4 in high trim flange covers the cut edge. Instead of a hinged door it has a top-loading clear acrylic front held by a Twin Top cylinder lock, with a breaker bar on a chain for emergency access.

Extinguisher compatibility

JL rates this tub for ABC dry-chemical extinguishers from 2.5 to 6 lb, regular BC dry chemical from 2.5 to 5.5 lb, a 2.5 lb Halotron clean agent unit and a 5 lb CO2 extinguisher. Weight is only a guide: check your extinguisher's cylinder diameter, overall height and width across the handle and hose against the 8-1/2 in × 19-13/16 in × 6-1/4 in tub before ordering. Where this model fits

Same job as the surface-mount 9163Z30, for a wall that can be cut. The rough opening is only 3-3/4 in deep, and the 2-3/4 in trim projection stays inside the ADA 4 in limit for a corridor. It replaces JL's older 99GT, and JL sells replacement acrylic for it. The product images are representative of this configuration; the cabinet ships built as specified in the table above.
