JL Industries Cosmopolitan Stainless Steel Semi-Recessed Fire Extinguisher Cabinet 10 lb 1037V10

The JL Industries Cosmopolitan 1037V10 is a semi-recessed stainless steel fire extinguisher cabinet for a 10 lb extinguisher, made in the USA. It is the vertical-duo version of the Cosmopolitan 1037F10: the door pairs a stainless panel with a narrow clear acrylic window, so the extinguisher is visible without a full glass front. Door and trim are stainless steel in a #4 satin finish, specified where a painted steel cabinet will not hold up: commercial kitchens, food processing, healthcare, laboratories and washdown areas. The tub recesses into the wall while the 3 in rolled trim stays within the ADA 4 in projection limit, and the door swings on a stainless continuous hinge that opens 180 degrees, with a zinc-plated pull handle and roller catch. The photo shows the 1037F10, which is the same cabinet with a full-view door. This one has the vertical duo door and ships built as specified in the table below.

Why stainless

Stainless is chosen where the cabinet will be cleaned often or should match other stainless fixtures. The door and trim have no paint or powder coat to chip. The door and trim you see and clean are stainless, while the recessed tub behind the wall is painted galvanized steel. Extinguisher compatibility

JL rates this tub for dry-chemical extinguishers from 2.5 to 10 lb, Halotron clean agent from 2.5 to 5 lb, and a 5 lb CO2 extinguisher. Before ordering, compare your extinguisher's overall height, handle included, with the tub's inside height and its overall width, hose included, with the inside width. Its cylinder diameter has to fit the 6 in tub depth. Allow at least 1 in of clearance each way and check that it fits through the door opening. The same stainless cabinet with a full-view door is the 1037F10, and with a solid door the 1037S21. Tub, trim and the 11-1/2 in × 25 in × 3-1/8 in wall opening are identical.
