Buckeye 2.5 Gallon Water Mist Fire Extinguisher

The Buckeye Water Mist extinguisher discharges deionized water as a fine mist through a special nozzle, which makes it safe to use on energized electrical equipment as well as ordinary Class A combustibles. Buckeye Fire Equipment rates this 2.5 gallon stored-pressure unit 2-A:C, manufactured and Listed to ANSI/UL 8 and ANSI/UL 711.

The fine deionized mist is what separates it from a standard water extinguisher: it carries a Class C rating for energized electrical equipment, and it leaves no corrosive dry-chemical residue to wipe off sensitive equipment. Buckeye calls it the number one choice for hospitals and libraries, and it is also used in offices, classrooms, churches, retail stores, parking garages, hotels, and research, light-manufacturing, and vehicle, aircraft, and marine service facilities. In those settings the unit covers common-combustible and energized-electrical hazards; it is not rated for flammable liquids (Class B) or cooking oils (Class K).

It is non-magnetic and third-party tested as MR Conditional for use in the MRI environment, rated to a static magnetic field of 3 tesla or less and a spatial gradient of 720 gauss per centimeter or less. It is intended for use near the scanner, not inside the bore. A Schrader valve in the valve assembly makes recharging quick and simple.
